At 08.30 in the morning, you’ll pick up your bikes at your hotel to cycle to a local farm. There, your tour guide introduces the history of the village, the cultivation of the vegetables as well as discovering about the use of vegetables in traditional Vietnamese medicine. You will take a trip around the vegetable garden and join the farmers in preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. After lunch at a local restaurant by the river, you will travel to another village to take the basket boats with local fisherman to learn how to cast a net, catch fish, shrimp, crab… You will have a chance to learn about daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families and their community.
Returning Hoi An in the later afternoon, you will visit home of a craftsman. Here, you will have a brief introduction to the history, shape, and color of the lanterns as well as the many stages of making them. You will make your own lantern for a souvenir.
