Early morning departure for a full day in the field covering the DMZ around Khe Sanh Combat Base, the area of the ” Leatherneck Square” bounded by Con Tien, Gio Linh, Cam Lo and Dong Ha, and Truong Son national cemetery – the resting place of over 10.000 men of the NVA’s 559 Group. Then we continue east to the old DMZ, we pull over at Gio Linh (Alpha 2) firebase – the northernmost firebase of the U.S Marine Corps in South Vietnam. The next stop on our journey will be the peace bridge across the Ben Hai River, the river that was the only true physical demarcation line between the two Vietnams.
In the late afternoon you will travel by car to return to Hue.
